What is IP PBX

IP PBX is an Internet Protocol Private Branch Exchange, An IP PBX or Virtual PBX is a system that allows businesses to utilize the power of the internet to route and switch telephone calls. This means you can use VoIP to connect your office phone system. This is done through a simpler and better telephony server.

If you think about it, every phone line, every computer terminal, and every mobile device in existence needs to communicate with another network in order to function properly. In the case of a PBX, a VoIP provider is likely to provide credentials for one or more SIP trunk accounts. After authentication, your PBX accepts incoming calls. Using your SIP trunk, users can also reach an outside phone number.
