What is Auto Dialing

Auto tapping or Auto Dialing is a feature of most phones which allows a user to place a call directly from the menu of the phone. In other words, it is the ability to dial a number from the home screen of your phone without having to pull out your keypad first.

You can even command the phone to display any information relating to the location of your current phone number as well as access other features like Caller ID, SpeakOn, and Travelers calls by saying “call” instead of just pressing the button that turns on the phone’s display.

Most phones have this feature built-in but not all do this very well. Oftentimes you will find phones which will prompt you to either dial a specific number or input a letter or digit when you click on Dial.

Three things are required for an autodialer to work properly: a computer, a voice modem, and an active telephone line. By using the voice modem, a computer can play back recordings over the phone. As well as the people on the receiving and sending ends of the call.

Once these components are integrated, along with the system that stores all of your customers’ contact information, auto dialer software will take care of all the rest. The software will then instruct the computer to dial specific numbers and how to handle dead-ends, voice mails, and busy lines using the database of leads.

Auto dialers can identify voicemails and people on the other end of the line using voice detection tools. Based on that information, a broadcast message or an actual person will be connected to the call recipient.

When auto-dialers are in operation, they will also collect information about pick-up rates, phone call durations, and the number of calls that go to voicemail.
