Each year Berry supports two chosen charities with a staff fund raising day. A national and local charity is chosen and often reflects causes close to the hearts of staff at the organisation.
On Friday 2nd November, the Berry team supported the Southampton Children’s Hospital Neonatal Unit.
in recognition of the amazing work that this facility does and raised over £700.
To kick start fundraising Berry provided a range of fabulous gifts for a raffle prize draw including a Bose speaker, Amazon Echo and an iPad. Staff donated individually to wear pink for the day as well as donating for a buffet lunch. There was a charity quiz and other money generating activities took place over the day.
This special fundraising day also gives the chance for staff from its Whiteley office to work alongside the staff based in Salisbury for the day, strengthening relationships across the organisation.
Berry also encouraged customers to get involved by asking them to ‘guess the number of bottles in the jar’ via Facebook, which saw 60 guesses being made over the morning.
Earlier this year, Berry raised over £600 for the British Heart Foundation and so was very happy to beat that total for the Neonatal Unit. Berry Co-owner and Finance Director Jo-Anne Udy said:
“We feel very privileged to be in a position that allows us to help causes such as the Neonatal Unit. We really do feel as though we have a moral obligation to give back to our community and there aren’t many more important that those looking after the most vulnerable at the Neonatal Unit. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this initiative and proud of two staff members in particular, Katie Miles and Stacey Salmon who have really championed these charity events.”
