A phone system to support their ethos

Almost 3 years ago Catherine Johnstone (CJ) Recruitment decided to look at options for new office phone systems. CJ’s philosophy is that effective recruitment is centred around people, connecting, communicating and supporting them throughout their recruitment journey – so they needed a phone system that could support this way of thinking.

CJ’s existing system was fast becoming outdated and unmanageable. The system they were using was almost 20 years old and for a modern and progressive company, they needed a solution that was more befitting their needs. Their system was also starting to be very expensive with lines and call charges spiralling. After researching suppliers, Berry’s wide range of case studies prompted them to get in touch.

A tailored approach to telecoms

Sales Director Simon Langford visited CJ to discuss their business requirements and any unique needs that they may in the recruitment industry. After a detailed review of their requirements and an analysis of their existing telephony costs, Simon was able to present them with a solution that not only catered for all of their needs, but in the end would save them money. Simon created a bespoke and more affordable call plan and due to his previous engineering experience was able to recommend a more efficient and robust telecoms platform. CJ had full confidence in Simon’s considered approach and decided to go ahead with the install.

Installation with business continuity in mind

The implementation of the system was undertaken by a Berry engineer who was able to walk the CJ team through the switch over and answer any questions that they may have had. Berry’s engineer ensured that they had minimal down time to guarantee business continuity for CJ. CJ’s Managing Director Jeremy Booth said:

“The engineer that came to fit our system was fantastic, he was really helpful and personable which meant we could ask those silly questions and get the most out of the system.”

Realising true benefits

CJ now enjoys the very latest in telecommunications technology and are seeing real benefits from implementing this system. Of particular benefit to CJ has been the following:

  • Click-to-call feature - has saved them time in locating and dialling numbers for clients.
  • Fax integration – allows them to work more efficiently as faxes are delivered directly to the right person instantly rather than sitting on a fax machine waiting for someone to retrieve them.
  • Call recording - this has helped them to improve their staff training but more importantly has since prevented one serious attempt of fraud.

They have also benefited from the database integration tool and have found it really easy to add new users when required.

CJ’s maintenance agreement with Berry has meant that they’ve received the VIP treatment when needing assistance with technical enquiries. All enquiries have been dealt with swiftly and to CJ’s satisfaction. Jeremy goes on to say:

“From our perspective the phone system with Berry Telecom has been a very good investment and we would, and often do, recommend them to everyone.”
